The tasks of the Institute of Language Technologies and Applied Linguistics: conducting language technology research and development, building and maintaining language resources and language technology infrastructures; compilation of electronic text databases for corpus linguistics research; conducting research on  language usage and naming questions, providing consultation services regarding language use, linguistic dissemination and science communication; sociopragmatics, theoretical and practical research of Hungarian and other minority languages.

We invite colleagues with interest in contrastive pragmatics to join the 1st Contrastive Pragmatics symposium, run under the aegis of Contrastive Pragmatics: A Cross-Disciplinary Journal.
